OAKBROOK TERRANCE – To uplift women in need and survivors of domestic abuse, State Senator Suzy Glowiak Hilton is teaming up with DuPage County legislators to host a Love Purse donation drive starting Oct. 1.

“The #LovePurse movement is a small way we can support and empower residents who are feeling scared or vulnerable,” said Glowiak Hilton (D-Western Springs). “Our goal is to come together to provide survivors of domestic abuse and those in need with basic necessities, notes of encouragement, and the intention to make residents feel loved, valued and respected.”

There are more than 25 donation locations throughout DuPage County, including Glowiak Hilton’s office located at 17W715 E. Butterfield Rd., Suite F in Oakbrook Terrace.

A few locations within the 23rd Senate District include:

  • Representative Ladisch Douglass' Office: Westmont Centre, 1 S. Cass Ave., Suites 103-104, Westmont, IL
  • Representative Blair Sherlock's Office: 28 Villa Ave., Villa Park, IL
  • Elmhurst Library: 125 S. Prospect Ave., Elmhurst, IL
  • Elmhurst Park District - Mary E. Kies Center: 155 E. St. Charles Rd., Elmhurst, IL
  • Elmhurst Park District - Joanne B. Wagner Community Center: 615 N. West Ave., Elmhurst, IL
  • Glenside Public Library: 25 E. Fullerton Ave., Glendale Heights, IL
  • Villa Park Public Library: 305 Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, IL
  • Westmont Public Library: 428 N. Cass Ave., Westmont, IL

Those interested in participating should donate new purses and unused toiletries such as feminine hygiene products, deodorant, soap, lotion, socks, face masks, compact mirrors, floss, lip balm, nail files along with other items.  For a complete list of locations and suggested donations visit www.SenatorSuzyGlowiak.com.

The #LovePurse organization collects new purses that are filled with personal care items and notes of encouragement to distribute to women in need and survivors of domestic abuse.
